Salary Calculator Bangladesh 2026 β Net Take-Home Pay
Enter your annual salary in taka to see your net take-home pay in Bangladesh after income tax. Good news: Bangladesh has no mandatory social security deduction for private employees. The Finance Act 2026 raised the tax-free threshold to Tk 400,000 and gives a 1/3-of-income employment exemption (max Tk 500,000).

How to use this calculator
Step 1 β Enter your annual gross salary in taka for the income year (1 July β 30 June). Step 2 β Select your taxpayer category. General, women/senior citizens, disabled, and war-wounded freedom fighters get different tax-free thresholds β pick yours. Step 3 β Hit "Calculate Net Pay". The calculator applies the one-third salary exemption (capped at Tk 500,000), then the 10β30% slabs, with the Tk 5,000 minimum tax. The monthly figure is your annual take-home divided by 12. Tip: the old component-wise exemptions (house rent, medical, conveyance) are gone β if another calculator still uses them, it's outdated.

Higher thresholds apply for women/seniors (Tk 450,000), persons with disability (Tk 525,000) and war-wounded freedom fighters (Tk 550,000). A Tk 5,000 minimum tax applies above the threshold. Sources: NBR (nbr.gov.bd), Finance Act 2026.
Deductions explained: the one-third rule, slabs, minimum tax
Bangladesh's 2026 system (post Finance Ordinance) is refreshingly simple. First, the one-third exemption: one-third of your total salary income is exempt, capped at Tk 500,000/year β it replaced all the old component-wise exemptions (house rent, medical, conveyance allowances). Second, the slabs: 10/15/20/25/30% on the taxable remainder, with the tax-free threshold baked into the first band. Third, the Tk 5,000 minimum tax: even if your computed tax is lower, most taxpayers owe at least Tk 5,000 for the year. Special categories (women, seniors, disabled, freedom fighters) get higher thresholds.
1. The old component-wise exemptions. The 2026 reform replaced house-rent/medical/conveyance exemptions with the single one-third rule (Tk 500,000 cap). 2. The old 5% starter bracket. It was abolished β the first taxable band is now 10%. 3. Forgetting the Tk 5,000 minimum tax. Low computed tax doesn't mean zero tax β the minimum applies.
Filing and the minimum tax
The Tk 5,000 minimum tax deserves a second look: it means most salaried employees in Dhaka owe something even at modest incomes β there's effectively no zero-tax return for general taxpayers above the threshold. Employers withhold tax monthly (TDS) from salaries, and the annual return reconciles it. Keep your salary certificate from your employer; it's the document the NBR asks for first.
